Seizures from a Rawhide Dog Chew

My 12 yr old Yorkie had her first seizure in October 2010 and the only unusual thing that happened that evening, was that she was chewing on a rawhide dog chew. However, the doctors did not indicate that the rawhide bone had anything to do with the seizure.

Several months have past and she has been seizure free. I was given a bag of rawhide dog chews by a friend that her dog did not like. I gave both my Yorkie's one of the rawhide bones and in the middle of the night my 12 yr old Yorkie again had another seizure.

It seems as though these treats are causing seizures. It is very scary seeing your dog go through this, she is still pacing from the after effects.

The rawhide's are going in the TRASH!
