Rawhide Dog Chews Have Bad Effects on our Chessies

We have two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Shandy (5) and Chloe (2). They both love rawhide dog chews, but we limit giving them because they both suffer from severe gas (curl your nose hairs bad) for about 24 hours after having one. They love them though and having gas didn't seem to bother them as much as it bothered us. THAT WAS UNTIL 2 DAYS AGO!

They had not had a rawhide for several weeks and they both tucked in enthusiastically. When I returned home yesterday I found Shandy had a severe case of diarrhea with blood in the mix.

That's the last rawhide dog bone either one will have.
