Our dog Had A Seizure | We Think It Was The Rawhide Bone!

by Jen H.
(Richmond, VA)

Our dog started acting drunk, throwing up and urinating. Then she was lethargic for about a half hour.

We took her to the vet and she was severely dehydrated from throwing up. Later her bloodwork showed she had extremely elevated levels of (2) liver enzymes. The doc decided we'd re-test the blood in 10 days to see if the levels came down to normal. They did come back to normal which leads to our assumption it was something she ingested.

She is either in the house or on a leash so she is well-supervised and didn't get into anything dangerous. The only thing we can think is that she was really into her rawhide bone that day. It was Berkeley & Jensen brand Natural Rawhide Bones distributed in MA but made in Brazil. Don't know for sure but we won't be giving her rawhides anymore.
