Only Feed All Natural Food And Natural Dog Treats
Free Of All Chemicals And Preservatives!
Today it's pretty easy to find all natural dog treats almost anywhere. Over the years, we've had plenty of older dogs and we understand how important it is to the owner to keep them content in their twilight years.
We would like to share some information with you that has helped us with our own dogs over the years regarding dog treats.
If your old dog has bad teeth or problems chewing, then a soft treat would be recommended. Look for all natural dog treats and avoid treats that contain the following ingredients:
- AVOID Preservatives
- AVOID Salt
- AVOID Sugar (Honey is acceptable)
- AVOID Onions and Garlic
- AVOID Nuts
- AVOID Grapes
- AVOID Raisins (Remember, raisins are dried grapes)
Natural Or Organic - What's The Difference

Most people think that organic and all natural are the same, but they are not.
- For example, in order to claim a treat "Organic", the wheat (flour) that made the dog treat had to have been grown with only vegetable or animal fertilizers, no chemicals. Organic dog treats are usually a good choice for those with severe allergies.
- In order to claim that a treat is "All Natural", the wheat (flour) can be fertilized with vegetable, animal or chemical fertilizers, but ANY ingredient added must be of all natural form. That means no preservatives or imitation flavorings can be added to any ingredient that goes into making the treat itself.
Why Are All Natural Dog Biscuits So Expensive?
Actually, not all of them are over-priced. The main reason that any all natural product is more expensive is because there are no preservatives to lengthen the shelf life of the product. Plus, any product that is pure is always worth more.
The Benefits Of An All Natural Dog Treat For Your Dog
- Dogs Prefer The Taste
- Often Easier To Digest Than Traditional Dog Treats Laced With Chemicals And Preservatives

What To Look For In An All Natural Dog Treat
- Preservative Free (Vitamin E is considered to be a natural preservative and therefore is acceptable).
- All flavorings added should be natural, imitation flavorings are not all natural.
- All the ingredients that make up the treat should be all natural (example: If the treat includes Peanut Butter, then the Peanut Butter must also be all natural)
- We only recommend American made rawhide treats, dog cookies or treats of any kind. Like most aging dogs, our dogs prefer a softer cookie treat.
Know your dog and explore for yourself what works best for him. Always provide regular veterinarian care.
