My Dog Blacky

by Anonymous

My dog Blacky was a golden retriever. He was the greatest dog ever. If I told him to come, he came. If I told he to sit, he would sit. If I told him to fetch, he would fetch.

Blacky would do whatever I told him. Well at least for his first 13 years alive. During his 14th year I noticed he wasn't himself. I took him in for his annual checkup and the Vet said he was a okay.

In the next two months though Blacky slowly started shutting down. I took him back to the vet and they noticed that his heart beat was way to slow.

As they looked a little closer at Blacky, they decided to take a heart scan. When the test was completed, it revealed he had severe canine cancer in the heart. It was so severe that there really wasn't anything they could do.

My dog had cancer. We took Blacky to a dog cancer specialist where they performed chemotherapy on Blacky. For the first couple days it looked promising. However, Blacky just couldn't handle the radiation and he died within within one week.

Blacky was the greatest dog ever and I wish that we could have caught the cancer earlier. I think that dogs should have a cancer scan during there annual checkups because it could save a lot of animals from dying and my Blacky could have had a much better chance to live.

Hi Susan:
I'm glad to hear that "Brown" is doing a little better since starting the K9 Immunity. This brought a smile to my face. I will keep your sweet "Brown" in my prayers.

Please keep us posted o.k.

Blacky

I totally understand about your dog Blacky.

Read my story about my pretty "Brown".

We decided not to go the route with surgery and chemo. She was diagnosed in February 2011,still hanging in there (7/30) on C-Piroxicam which I have to order from an Apothecary store in Arizona (I live in NY).

We have to order every month and lose days on the prescription because of the shipping and the expiration dates. Expensive but helping our beautiful Brown.

I have started her on K9 Immunity Plus. Wish I would have known about this product before. Seems to be helping her. Her eye seems to be bleeding less (everything that use to come from her nose) and returning to it's socket. Maybe it is just wishful thinking. Time will tell.

We are keeping our fingers and toes crossed, If I ever have another dog that develops cancer, I believe I would do the regular K9 Immunity in a heart beat.
