Gastric Upset From Rawhide Dog Chews
by LC
I had no idea. I just thought that dogs do this, until I saw this warning on the back and had to give my puppy boiled chicken and rice, with NO TREATS, when he got sick one time, and he had NO FARTS. Then I figured it out. So in short, if you can stand the stench, and want to give your doggie about 1/2 to 1 hour of chewing enjoyment, then go ahead. Aside from that, it doesn't seem to be a problem (aside from a little messiness from the bone getting mushy and can stain on fabrics, but the dog usually eats it, especially if it's tasty. and you can wipe the fabrics down anyway). Some are even flavored with meat inside, which I find are the best, and my puppy loves them. I would however stay away from the ones that have "Red 40" in it. An unnecessary ingredient, that's NOT good for your pup/dog anyway. Other than that, Happy Chewing!! <^()___ \____\~ _/_/ _\ |
