Don't Buy Exer-Hides !!!

by Natalie
(NewYork)

My husband bought Exer-Hides for the 3rd time this year and every time after my bull mastiff had one of these rawhide dog chews, he has gotten severe diarrhea and vomiting. Third strike and they are out !

I woke up at 3:45am to hearing my dog having projectile diarrhea all over my bedroom rug and wall after having a day of cleaning up vomit. That was THE LAST TIME EVER my dog touches Exer-Hides!

I don't know WTF they are putting in them but I suggest that dog owners completely boycott this product before they either loose their beloved dog or incur HUGE MEDICAL BILLS FROM THE VET. I am so disappointed in this product and will never buy this brand name again.

EXER HIDES CAUSE SEIZURES
by: IRISH SETTER RESCUE

My Oldest Irish Setter started having Seizures. At first they were few and far between and then they started to increase in intervals and duration. I spent a lot of money with the Vet, changed all his foods and tried all the recommended medicines and nothing was working. Some of the Seizures were in clusters that were 1 hour apart and lasted for 12 hours. Some were 2 hours apart and lasted 24 hours. Each cluster was having its toll on my Setter. He would recover but it would take him 2 to 3 weeks after each cluster and the medicine was causing a big weight gain. His personality changed and he would avoid any contact with other animals or people. This went on for almost 2 years before I realized that the WALMART EXER-HIDES were still part of his weekly diet. Upon removing these EXER-HIDES from his diet he showed a remarkable improvement in his daily routines in just the first week. By the second week he was acting more and more like his old self. At six weeks he had shown no signs of having any more seizures and he was at 80% back to his old self. He had not ever gone more than 3 weeks without a seizure and we are now at 8 weeks and still counting. These EXER-HIDE are poison and my Vet and I are 100% sure these EXER-HIDES were the source of the Seizures. In my book WALMART owes me about $2000.00 in Vet bills and these SEIZURES took at least 2 years off this poor Irish Setters life span. The good news is he is doing great at this time but I need to do is to get all the extra weight off of him.

In Summary: Do not Purchase this product and warn anybody and everybody about this product.

All products have risks
by: Anonymous

My dog loves Exer-Hides and she has never gotten sick. However, I know that manufacturing products for dogs do not have the standards that human products do, and my other dog has gotten sick from rawhide in the past.

I have seen rawhide dog treats at Petco with mold growing on them in the package. So, just be careful what you buy, where you buy it and "test" it on your dog before you give them a huge piece.

Exer-Hides
by: Schuantu

Rawhide in any form is NOT good for your dog..look up how it is made...and those greenie's are another chew to stay away from..it doesn't matter if you supervise or not..once a dog starts to choke many times there's nothing you can do..and once swallowed there's only one way out...well 2 really...lol.

I never give raw hide or pigs ear etc..

Exer-hides

1 7" knotted bone a day for 7 years and never an issue. I don't why some are experiencing issues, but I cannot figure out how they can be related to the bones.

She loves them and they have had no known effect on her.

No problems here with Exer-hides!
by: Anonymous

I've been giving them regularly to my three dachshunds for ages. Usually twice or three times per week and have had no problems at all.
