We were surprised at how hard it is to find sweaters and coats for the large and giant breed dogs. Any dog can get cold, but depending on the breed, some of the larger breeds like Dobermans or even the giant breeds such as Great danes can get cold easily. They naturally have thin coats and can use a little help from their doggy parents to keep them warm at times.

We did some thorough research for dog sweaters, sweatshirts and coats specifically for the large and giant breed dogs. We put together some nice choices for those with big furry kids!

We recommend that you DO MEASURE before buying. Use the following tips for measuring.

Measuring Your Dog's Girth And What Does It Mean?
Girth is the widest part of your dog's chest. Use a cloth tape measurer if you have one for an accurate measure.

The widest part of your dog's chest is directly behind the front legs. Go underneath (behind the legs) and up over the back, meeting both ends of the tape measurer.

For broad chested dogs, it's a good idea to add an additional 2" to the chest size when ordering if possible.

Measuring Length
Measure from the collar, down to the end of your dog's back where the tail starts.

You can find oodles and oodles of coats and sweaters for the teacup and little breed dogs, but when it comes to the bigger dogs, it's tough!
