Comment on Your Article on Chew-Eez
by: Lois DeWitt

I wrote an article for this website about rawhide bones and how they were bleaching the hair on my dogs front legs (he holds them and chews on them that way). Did you see it?

I have still not found out what the manufacturers do for processing this kind of product for dogs. I know there must be a considerable amount of bleach used to sterlize and perserve rawhide for the shelf life of the product.
The fact that your dog, Chip, gets sick from eating the Chew-Eez makes me suspect that many dogs may be allergic or have a reaction to (1) the rawhide itself (2) the way the rawhide is processed.

I am still trying to find out more about how this product is processed--and would be glad to update you on my findings if you would like to give me your e-mail address.
My address is loislight@bellsouth.net

Let's be informed!
