Dangerous - Hartz Dentists Best DentaShield Rawhide Dog Bones (made in Brazil)

by S.K.
(Indiana)

Gave our perfectly healthy 2 year old half Beagle/half Australian Shepherd a Hartz Rawhide dog bone (Dentashield). After chewing it for only 5 to 10 minutes, he went into convulsions or a seizure that scared us half to death. It lasted about 15 minutes then subsided.

I will be monitoring him throughout the night.

Looked at the label. It was produced in Brazil. It contains several chemicals that are probably the culprit. And given it was made in Brazil, who knows what else is in it. This is the last time I buy a Hartz product.

What's the matter Hartz? - to cheap and too un American to produce products in the the U.S.

You'll be hearing from me.

Convulsion seizure NEW
by: Anonymous

We had the same experience with our 14 year old Beagle. I bought this based on Hartz being a long standing dog company. I will be filing a claim with someone, so that maybe I can prevent it from happening to other dogs. It was very scary, and I felt guilty knowing I bought this product, and it ends up being the scariest thing ever. (Crying out in the middle of the night, disoriented, unstable, glossy eyes, as if she did not even know who I am, unsteady gate, head shaking, drooling) BUYER BEWARE.
