Lil' fellow looks drunk and passed out!

My Dachshund is extremely well behaved. I have a store and my home is at the same premises. I leave my dog loose, and don't tie him up. He's adorable with all the customers! Doesn't bother them! Femina the lifestyle and fashion magazine in India, while writing an article on my store, made a 1 paragraph mention on my dog! They were so impressed :)

He loves to walk, and walks about 1.5 km every day! Unless of course if it's raining! Can't get his feet wet! He insists on walking only with me, and if anybody even takes the leash in their hands, he will run and hide under a table, or behind my legs!!

When he was small, we lived in a flat and my landlord's 2 year old son used to pull the dog's tail and ears. When I came to know about it, I stopped my dog's visits to my landlord's place.

But, the poor dog is traumatized. If he sees a child coming into the premises, he scoots into the house and hides under a bed. If a customer who's not comfortable with dogs comes into the shop, I just have to tell him "Go Inside" and he does!

Like any Dachshund he kills cats, rats, even killed a pigeon once-don't ask me how!! He barks at the grocery man, the laundry man, the mail man, well you get the picture!

Customers though, he barks to let me know someone's come, but after that he's sniffing them and wagging his tail. Sometimes he follows them and goes ahead of them showing them around the shop! I joke saying he's my "Star Salesman"!!

Thanks Janie for letting ppl share their stories with you and everyone else, and for the wonderful tips you are giving at your website and at your twitter page!

With best regards,
Tarun Lewis
